Flexible Payment Arrangements

Need more time to pay? We understand that a variety of circumstances can lead to a late payment, and we’re here to help you get back on track by offering payment arrangements. With a payment arrangement, eligible customers are allowed additional time to bring their account up to date with monthly installments. When you enter into a payment arrangement, your full balance due will be divided evenly over an agreed-upon time frame.

Interested in learning more about a payment arrangement plan or enrolling? Eligible customers may enroll by accessing their online account, using our automated phone system, or by speaking with a customer representative.

We’re available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday: 800-992-7552 in Arkansas and Texarkana 866-275-5265 in Oklahoma

We are proud to announce our Summit Heating Assistance Fund exceeded $100,000 that directly assisted hundreds of families with financial support. However, at this time our funds have been depleted.

At Summit, we are only as strong as the communities we serve, which is why we support our service areas by offering aid to help those in need. That's why we created the Summit Heating Assistance Fund for customers in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and the Texarkana, Texas area to provide financial assistance to customers who are struggling to pay their heating bills. Contributions for the fund come from Summit Utilities and customers who generously opt-in to donate to the fund on their monthly bill. The program provides customers with up to $200 to pay past due natural gas bills during the heating season, November 1 – March 29, 2024 or if program funds get depleted.

Medical Emergencies

Summit Utilities will not turn off a customer’s service if we receive a certificate from a doctor stating that shutting off gas service would aggravate a serious illness or create a substantial risk of death or grave illness for the customer or other permanent resident of the premises where service is provided. Medical certificates to be filled out by your physician can be requested by calling our customer service team. The certificate should identify the patient medical needs, specify the likely effects on the health of the individual from discontinuing gas service, and the time during which cutting off the gas would endanger the individual. Summit Utilities is not required to continue to provide service for longer than 30 days unless the medical certificate is renewed before the certificate expires, and the certificate can only be renewed once in a 12-month period. Please call customer service at 800-992-7552 for more information.

Please note: a medical emergency does not cancel any bills for service and usage. Customers may explore this page or call customer service for a list of local financial assistance agencies or learn more about setting up a delayed payment agreement.

Dual Eligibility & Special Needs Plans

Some customers may qualify for a dual eligible special needs plan (D-SNP) through their health insurance provider. Summit cannot provide information to customers about whether or not they are eligible for the program. If interested, customers should contact their insurance provider for more information. Some of these D-SNP plans offer rewards or a money card that may be used on expenses other than healthcare, including eligible utility bills.

Customers enrolled with a qualifying program may have a card issued to them by their insurance provider for use on utility expenses. Summit’s payment vendor, Paymentus, cannot process payments directly from these cards, as they are not a qualifying debit or credit card. To make payments using these cards, customers may contact their closest pay site and verify that they accept the card as a payment method for utility bills. Customers can then make a payment there, or they can contact the phone number on the card and make a payment toward their Summit bill through that phone number. Please know payments made via the phone number on the card may take more than one week to route to us for processing. Payments made via pay sites, such as Walmart, are typically processed and posted in 3-5 business days.

If you are having trouble paying your natural gas bill, please contact us right away for assistance.
