Summit Utilities Commits $30,000 to 15 Oklahoma Non-Profits

Little Rock, Arkansas (October 12, 2023) – Summit Utilities Oklahoma (Summit) is honored to announce it is committing $30,000 in grants to 15 non-profit organizations based in Oklahoma. Summit’s mission is to support non-profits that operate in its service area, recognizing that the future depends on the well-being of healthy and vibrant communities.

"Summit is committed to forming meaningful partnerships and building relationships in our service area and this is one way we can contribute to the communities we serve," said Fred Kirkwood, Chief Customer Experience Officer for Summit. “We are thrilled to give back to these non-profits that work to improve our communities and state.”

The organizations receiving the grant funding are not-for-profit 501(c)(3) status organizations in Summit’s service area. They are:

  • Ada Regional United Way (Ada) 
  • Kara's Game Inc. (Blackwell) 
  • Chickasha Soup Kitchen (Chickasha) 
  • Love INC., Cushing Marketplace (Cushing)
  • Hungry Hearts Feeding Ministry (Lawton) 
  • Lovesick Ministries Inc. (Lawton) 
  • Cultivating Communities (Lawton) 
  • Family Promise of Lawton (Lawton) 
  • Catholic Charities Lawton Regional Office (Lawton)
  • Lawton Food Bank (Lawton) 
  • Might Community Development & Resource Center (Lawton) 
  • Teen court (Lawton) 
  • The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Lawton, Oklahoma (Lawton)  
  • Love Rocks the Spectrum (Weatherford)
  • Weatherford Food and Resource Center (Weatherford) 

In June, Summit announced its new community giving grant program. A Summit team member-led panel chose qualifying non-profits to receive the funding for their organizations that focus on human needs, education, community vitality, and environmental stewardship.

Summit is a community-oriented company, and in addition to supporting community causes, it also provides members of its team with up to 20 hours of paid time off each year to volunteer in the communities it serves.
